Too many pancakes was the genesis of a long standing activity at Sourdough Campground RV Park in the eastern town of Tok, Alaska. The sourdough pancakes stay semi-firm and fly somewhat like Frisbee's.
Since then, flinging pancakes has become a time honored tradition at the campground following dinner. Tim, one of the owners as well as the cook, will entertain guests with his since of humor, and for the campers who want to try their hand at tossing pancakes, they are given 2 chances to toss a pancake into a buckit, each winner receives $10.00 off a breakfast the next morning.
Each evening the Sourdough Campground RV Park hosts a community campfire with free marshmallows for roasting . “This gets people out of their RVs, trailers or tents, to socialize. It’s amazing to see people actually wander around visiting, so many times they just sit in their RVs.
